Why Video Editors Choose Videostew Over Premiere

Eduplus is the educational media arm of ET Edu, an educational corporation under the Electronic Newspaper Media Group, established in December 2018 with the goal of nurturing key talents for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Eduplus provides high-quality educational information to various members of the educational ecosystem, including students, parents, teachers, and professors.

In today's interview, we met PD Ha-jung Jeong, who is primarily responsible for producing short-form videos on platforms like YouTube and Instagram.

Despite being more familiar with Adobe Premiere Pro as a video editing expert, PD Jeong is utilizing Videostew for creating shorts content.

Why did she choose Videostew, and how is she actually using it?

Let's dive into PD Ha-jung Jeong's story through the interview!

Focusing on Planning, Not Editing, for Shorts Content

Hello, I'm PD Ha-jung Jeong from Eduplus.

Currently, we're using Videostew, which is why I'm participating in this interview. Originally, when we started running the YouTube channel, I used Premiere Pro to make shorts.

However, since I had to import audio separately and prepare all the necessary visual materials individually, the editing process took up too much time, making it difficult to dedicate enough time to the crucial content planning.

This led to internal discussions about finding a more efficient tool than Premiere Pro to focus on planning while managing editing tasks more effectively.

That's when we discovered Videostew, and after a few test runs, we felt it could be a great fit for us.

Now, we have established a video production process using Videostew to distribute content.

Including the time spent writing the script, it takes about 3 hours to complete a video, and out of that, only about 1 hour is actually spent editing with Videostew.

This allows me to invest more time in content planning, resulting in more entertaining and high-quality content.

Start with Videostew without a steep learning curve

One of the biggest advantages of Videostew is that it's really easy to use. From my experience, it's similar to Canva. After using it once or twice, I got the hang of it quickly.

Initially, it was a bit unfamiliar to learn where each function was, but after that, I could use it smoothly. Especially, the TTS (Text-to-Speech) and GIF features were a huge help in significantly reducing work time.

I tend to use a lot of funny memes in shorts videos. Most of the GIFs I use are found in the library provided by Videostew, and for famous GIFs that come to mind while looking at the script, I search and upload them separately from the internet.

If I were working with a tool like Premiere Pro, I'd have to create TTS separately and bring it in, search and upload each GIF, and edit them by time, but with Videostew, there's no need for that, making the work much more efficient. Short-Form Videos: The Key to Becoming a 'Media That Engages'

These days, it's almost essential for every platform to leverage video content. That's why we place a significant emphasis on our video content.

Our company, EduPlus, aims to be a 'media that engages.' As part of this mission, we're particularly focused on short-form video content.

Short-form content is highly effective for branding because it tends to get good exposure. You've heard of riding the algorithm wave, right? Content that's timely and relevant often gets high viewership as well.

It also allows us to quickly gauge audience reactions, which is immensely helpful for improving our content.

Receiving immediate feedback through views and comments empowers us to enhance our content, which has been instrumental in our growth as a 'media that engages.'

Delivering Quality Information in Various Formats

Currently, we're seeing great success through YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.

Our YouTube Shorts generally receive thousands of views, and recently, one of our Instagram Reels surpassed 1 million views. It's a truly joyful and grateful moment for us.

However, Shorts aren't our ultimate goal. We are also committed to delivering 'news that comes to you' through newsletters and KakaoTalk Plus Friends.

We put a lot of effort into our newsletter, which is published every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We curate the most important education articles of the week to help our readers understand them easily and enjoyably.

The goal for this year is to reach 1,000 subscribers on our YouTube channel. After that, we plan to expand our content with long-form videos and podcasts.

Our ultimate aim is to provide high-quality information to all members of the educational ecosystem through various formats and channels.

We've been using Videostew from the early days of our YouTube channel up until now, and we're extremely satisfied with it! We hope you continue to develop more great features, and we look forward to working with you!

Please continue to support us at EduPlus.

In Conclusion

This is Jun from Videostew. I first discovered(?) EduPlus thanks to the YouTube algorithm.

Since I watch so many shorts, it popped up in my feed. But honestly, just from watching them on YouTube, it's hard to tell if they were made with Videostew or not.

But the content was really good. First off, they write incredibly enticing text, and their use of GIFs is insane. They were the ideal customer that Videostew dreams of. (The fact that all tasks from idea to shorts are completed in 3 hours was also mind-blowing.)
