Korea Press Foundation (KPF) is an organization dedicated to enhancing public information welfare through a variety of projects across multiple media channels.
While visiting the KPF office, I happened to catch a video playing on a display in the hallway, and it was infused with the unmistakable vibe of Videostew.

Unaware that KPF was actively using Videostew, I was pleasantly surprised and requested an interview. It turns out that KPF has been realizing the importance of video content internally and decided to use Videostew while exploring realistic solutions to establish a video editing workflow.
We sat down with Manager Youngjae Lim to learn how KPF is running its video channel.
"We Already Had the Content" - Rediscovering Text
Hello, I'm Youngjae Lim, a manager at the Korea Press Foundation. The video playing on the display is part of our YouTube channel content, focusing on the behind-the-scenes of government advertising. Last year, we set a goal to focus on video content, and this is one of the formats we came up with.
Given the nature of our institution, we have an abundance of text-based content. Every month, we publish a magazine called "Newspapers and Broadcasting" in the form of a monthly journal. We also run newsletters regularly. These are all channels to promote the various projects we undertake.
While each department produces videos that get uploaded to YouTube, we first thought about how we could leverage our extensive text materials for a more comprehensive channel operation.
When you think about creating a video, it might seem like you need to start with filming. However, if you recycle the vast amount of text content already available, you can start without much hassle.
That's when the support project for building a shared infrastructure for news content <> came to mind, where the foundation supports media companies with a module that converts text into video, called NewsTTV (Videostew). I immediately tested it, excited by the idea that adopting Videostew would allow us to easily transform numerous text contents into videos.
Intuitive Workflow That Lowers the Entry Barrier
I accessed Videostew and recklessly created 3-4 test contents using the recipes and wizard mode provided by Videostew. It was so intuitive that I quickly got the hang of how to use it.
Since Videostew automatically sets up a basic framework once you input the text, it allows for highly efficient editing. Also, because it involves repurposing existing newsletters or text contents, content planning was swift, and a video content was easily completed within 1-2 hours.
< Interview content inspired by Videostew's recipe >
While using Videostew, I also found it extremely useful for creating shorts content. We ended up publishing many shorts containing interview videos or promotional content we wanted to highlight.
< Published YouTube Shorts through Videostew >
The background image for the top title section was created with Miricanvas, and we crafted a unique template for KPF using Videostew. Now, we just need to keep adding new scripts.
One downside is that there are too many foreign videos in the stock library, which sometimes results in mismatched content.
The Power of Change Proven by Numbers
Internally, we set a KPI for our YouTube channel last year as we became more invested. Our goal was to increase subscribers by 10,000, and fortunately, we exceeded that target by the year's end.
This year, we're taking a breather as we discuss new content development and direction. Besides text content, we have various educational video content, and with the addition of an auto-caption feature in Videostew, we feel ready to explore more diverse formats.
Our newsletter, which started from publishing only magazines at KPF, is now approaching its 100th issue. This means our process from planning to distribution is well established. Creating a stable video editing workflow for our YouTube channel is this year's goal.
If your organization is primarily focused on text-based content like blogs or newsletters, Videostew might be a solution worth considering. We hope you continue to update with great features, and we look forward to another fantastic year with you!
A Word from the Interviewer
Watching the video play on the wall, I could sense with a sixth sense that it was a Videostew user, a feeling only a Videostew operator would know. Without hesitation, I requested an interview, and thank you for participating so enthusiastically.
Leaving KPF, I realized anew that digital transformation doesnβt necessarily mean implementing grand systems or massive organizational changes. Sometimes, itβs about looking at the assets you already have from a new perspective and finding the right tools to start a significant change, as KPFβs case demonstrates beautifully.
What struck me most was the perspective of βrediscovering text content.β One of the reasons many organizations and companies struggle with video content production is the pressure to βcreate something new.β KPF wisely tackled this issue by reinterpreting their existing text content into video format.
We promise to continue rewarding you with even better features!
