From the early days of Videostew, our dedicated user ‘Jalhaja’ has been a loyal customer from our perspective. After more than a year of consistent use, we requested an interview. The response we got was, “I'll do it once I receive the Silver Button.”
Time passed, and indeed, they received the Silver Button and reached out to us first. They expressed gratitude, acknowledging Videostew’s role, and agreed to participate in the interview.
As promised, upon receiving the Silver Button, ‘Jalhaja’ grew into a YouTuber with 150,000 subscribers. Shall we dive into their two-year journey of challenges and triumphs?
A 55-year-old Full-time Homemaker and a YouTube Creator with 150,000 Subscribers
Hello, I’m ‘Jalhaja’, a full-time homemaker and a YouTuber with 150,000 subscribers.
Originally, I worked in overseas sales for a fashion company for 17 years after graduating from college. I now share the expertise I gained during that time on my channel.
I currently manage a main channel (approximately 133,000 subscribers) focusing on fashion and hair information, and a secondary channel (about 17,000 subscribers) introducing foreign cultures.
With my husband set to retire in two years, I started this venture with the goal of generating more income than his pension, and here we are.
The Day Blog Earnings Collapsed, Finding a Breakthrough with Videos
I used to run a blog. However, a problem arose, and the earnings from my blog, which I had nurtured for three years, plummeted to one-tenth overnight.
As I thought, “There’s a limit to what writing can achieve,” I first learned about Videostew in a group chat room of bloggers. Hearing that “editing is easy, and there’s a free trial,” I decided to give it a shot.
Then I uploaded my first short on YouTube, and the views skyrocketed compared to my blog. Realizing “this works!”, I immediately switched to a paid plan and began spreading the word to acquaintances.
Easy Editing Can Build Consistency
< 'Jalhaja' who organizes ideas whenever there's time >
I use Videostew for over 90% of my video editing tasks. I only borrow CapCut when there's a minor inconvenience like trimming.
(In situations where I need to paste multiple clips on one slide...)For my main channel, I upload one short video daily and one long-form video every 10 days. For my secondary channel, I post one short every day. Even though these are rules I've set for myself, having such clear rules helps me stay focused.
With Videostew's My Template feature, I can prepare templates for each type of content and just swap out the scripts, cutting production time by more than half.
Ultimately, I believe that planning is crucial for successful videos, so I try to use my editing time as efficiently as possible. The hardest part is constantly coming up with new material every day. There were times when I felt down because I squeezed out ideas only to have them met with little response.
After enduring this for two years, I feel like I've developed a resilience to fluctuations in view counts. Now, even if views drop, I know they'll rise again, and that gives me peace of mind.
Balancing Chores and Childcare While Earning a Silver Button
< Two Years of Consistency Earns a YouTube Silver Button >
My days are like a jigsaw puzzle. Between picking up my kids from school/academy, taking my parents to the hospital, and managing household chores, I can only use the leftover bits of time. That's when I engage in activities necessary for video production.
Generally, I conduct research in the morning, write scripts in the afternoon, and finish concentrated editing after 9 PM to upload. I’m using the Creator Plan, which allows me to invite my husband to share the editing workload these days.
Last year, when I added another channel, there were many nights I went to bed around 1-2 AM, but now I manage to finish by 9-10 PM. If I can focus, I might be able to plan and upload two shorts in about 3-4 hours.
Breaking down the time it takes for a single short video: about 30 minutes for planning, 1 hour for sourcing and scripting, and approximately 30 minutes for editing using Videostew.
I uploaded my first video in February 2023, and monetization started that June. The silver button arrived exactly two years later, in February 2025.
The average income for the past six months is around 4.5 to 5.5 million KRW per month. I’m grateful to earn this while juggling household duties and childcare.
Planning to Expand into Beauty and Shopping Channels, But Health Comes First
As my husband is just starting, we're considering expanding into beauty and shopping channels once he gains more experience.
Since my husband is new to this, he’s experiencing the same trial and error I once did. But with Videostew, I believe it's entirely possible.
After over two years of using Videostew, I want to share my impressions. I'm highly satisfied with the service itself and the quick response to any issues that arise. It's a 9.9 out of 10!
If there's one thing I wish for, it's the ability to add multiple short videos into a single slide. Currently, I have to do this in CapCut and then upload it to Videostew for use.
Please continue to help us expand our "business"!
A Word from the Interviewer
'Jalhaja' is a customer who has been with Videostew through all its growth phases, making this interview particularly memorable. They stuck with us even when Videostew was far from convenient and riddled with bugs.
While organizing the interview, I looked back at our past consultation records with this customer, and it was quite the spectacle... Receiving real-time issue reports, making improvements... (Thank you once again!)
I always interacted with them via chat, so I only knew they were a female user. I was surprised to learn they are middle-aged and amazed that they manage to create such content despite being busy. I was also impressed to learn that they have been consistently working as a creator for over two years.
Watching 'Jalhaja's growth, it seems to perfectly demonstrate Videostew's tagline: 'Start light, create with all your heart.' It makes me as happy as if our service itself is growing.
We will strive to be the AI video editing solution that dramatically reduces the hassle and difficulties when you expand your channel and take on new challenges!
