If You’re a Media Company, Don’t Miss This 2026 Public Infrastructure Support Project: How to Use NewsTTV/News Images for Free

The Korea Press Foundation has opened applications for its 2026 News Content Shared Infrastructure Support Program. The application deadline is Wednesday, April 15, 5:00 PM.

This program offers cloud-based news production tools to media organizations for up to five years, free of charge (or with partial self-funding). Among the eligible tools are two modules provided by Videostew: NewsTTV and NewsImage. To help you apply right away, we’ve summarized the key details below.

So, what’s in it for your newsroom?

Selected media outlets can use the system 100% free for up to 3 years. In the 4th year, you’ll cover 30% of operating costs, in the 5th year 60%, and from the 6th year the system transitions to full self-hosted operation.

In other words, deploying video production and image generation tools on your own would normally require a hefty budget. Through this program, you get a proven AI toolset to try first at no cost, then decide later whether the investment makes sense for your organization.

Many news organizations are already using News Image to produce article thumbnails. They report not only significant savings on external image licensing costs, but also a major reduction in the editing time previously spent sourcing and managing images.

Who can apply?

You can apply for each module as either the AI type or the AZ type (Infrastructure + AI), and you’re also welcome to apply for multiple modules at the same time. We highly recommend applying for both NewsTTV and News Image together for the best results.
